Recipe courtesy of Muir Fresh Harvest
Ingredients:
4T. Olive Oil
6 thinly sliced Garlic Cloves
¼- ½ T. Red Pepper Flakes (depending on how spicy you want it to be)
1 28oz. can San Marzano Tomatoes (crushed in your hand)
1 cup Water
Fresh Cracked Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
Handful fresh Basil Leaves hand torn (saving some basil for garnish)
Directions:
Pre-heat Olive Oil in medium saucepan. Add Fresh Garlic Cloves and Red Pepper Flakes. Sautee until sliced Garlic Cloves are golden brown. Add the contents of your San Marzano Tomatoes into saucepan, and crush tomatoes in your hand as you place them in the pot. Fill San Marzano Tomatoes Can with about 1 Cup Water, and add to saucepan. Add Fresh Basil (hand torn) to sauce, leaving some extra for garnish. Season to taste with Salt. Add Fresh Cracked Pepper if you want your sauce to have a little heat.
Simmer until Marinara Sauce reduces to desired thickness, without burning. Sauce should be barely boiling. Do not over cook sauce.
*Mix with one lb. Cooked Pasta.
Enjoy!
