Simple Fruit, Green Leaf and Romaine Salad

Ingredients for salad:
3 cups Green Leaf Lettuce, torn
3 cups Romaine Leaf Lettuce, torn
2 medium Apples, chopped
1 cup Grapes, halved
1 cup Almonds, candied with butter, sugar, cinnamon and a little nutmeg

Ingredients for dressing:
½ cup Apple Juice
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
2 tbsp Canola Oil
5 tsp Brown Sugar
1 tsp Dijon Mustard
¼ tsp Pepper
1/8 tsp Salt
1/8 tsp Ground Cinnamon
Dash Ground Nutmeg

Directions:
Prepare candied Almonds with desired flavors. Set aside to cool. In a large salad bowl, whisk together the dressing ingredients until well blended. Add Apples and Grapes. Toss to coat. Place torn lettuces over Fruit in the dressing. (Do not toss yet!) Refrigerate for about an hour. Toss right before serving and top with candied Almonds. Enjoy!

Heritage Blend Fruit Salad


Heritage Blend Fruit Salad

Ingredients:
4 cups Heritage Blend Lettuce Mix
1 cup Strawberries, topped and sliced
1 cup Grapes, halved
2 Golden Delicious Apples, large diced
½ cup Red Onion, thinly sliced
½ cup Shitake Mushrooms, washed and thinly sliced
1 cup Walnuts, candied or plain, halved (as a garnish)

Orange Dressing:
½ cup fresh Orange Juice
1-½ teaspoons finely grated Orange Zest
1-½ teaspoons Honey
1-½ teaspoons Balsamic Vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard
½ teaspoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

Preparation:
In a medium salad bowl add Heritage Blend Lettuce. Arrange all other salad ingredients on top. Toss if desired, or decorate the salad with fruit etc. Dress with Orange Dressing and enjoy!
